Top 7 Reasons Why Your Articles Aren’t Getting Published

This has been said many times before, but I’ll state it again here for the record: article marketing is one of the top ways to promote your website or product. The number one reason why affiliates love article marketing is because it is free. Also it is not difficult and you can earn money online very successfully with article marketing as long as you do it the right way. If you find your articles aren’t getting published, see if any of the following could be the reason.

1. Submitting articles in the wrong place. You might be submitting your articles to the wrong category at article directories or emailing them to ezines in an entirely different niche.

2. Poor quality writing. You don’t need a college degree to write articles suitable for publishing online, but you must use correct spelling and grammar. If your articles are difficult to read, they won’t get past the reviewing editor.

3. Lack of content. You might be writing for the sole purpose of using articles to promote your product, but you have to give the reader something with some real meaty content to read. Make sure your articles give a useful tip or some good advice.

4. Too much content. Yes, this does happen! You might be brimming with enthusiasm about your topic, but you must be careful to overdo it. People reading online like to receive information in small chunks; don’t try to cram too much information into one article. You would do better to write a series of articles around one topic, dealing with a separate aspect of the topic in each article.

5. Poor layout. If your articles are all one paragraph, or a couple of large paragraphs, they will not attract readers because they will be difficult to read online. Make sure you break your text up into small paragraphs with lots of white space, so that your articles will be easier to read. If you write a long article, use subheadings to draw the eye down the page.

6. Articles that read like sales letters. The only place you should put any sales pitch is in your author resource box. Ezine publishers want informative articles, not somebody else’s sales letters.

7. Duplication. Don’t ever be tempted to plagiarise another author’s work, or to submit duplicate articles with a few minor changes, your articles won’t get past the editing stage unless they are genuinely original articles.

Article Marketing works, but it only works if you can write articles that get published in the important places and, if you write faster, you will earn more.
